Margarete Häusler studied textile and surface design at Art School Berlin-Weißensee. First of all she worked as a trained modeller for ceramics with porcelain. However, she soon found that material to be too cool, too stiff and too predefined for the clean, white shape. Playing with haptics, materiality, colours and patterns captivated her senses in dealing with textile materials.
Margarete Häusler created interior fabrics for well-known textile editors and realized commissions in the
fields of home textiles and accessories for furnishing stores in both Europe and the United States. She lived in Paris for several years, working as a designer, stylist and photographer for
well-known trend forecasting agencies, like TREND UNION, Studio Edelkoort and TRENDLAB NellyRodi™, Paris.
In 2009 she created her own label MARGARETE HÄUSLER, based in Berlin.
In 2015 moving to the Bavarian Countryside.
